Draakshaarishtam

Draksharishta is a natural herbal fermentation made from Draksha, the wine grape. Draksha is highly esteemed as the best among fruit by ancient ayurvedic texts, and is known to relieve fatigue, aid in the absorption of oils, aid in purgation, be beneficial to the throat, be a cough suppressant, to reduce fever, and promote tissue growth. This special blend is effective in treating tuberculosis as it relieves the fever, replenishes the body tissues, augments the body strength, stokes the dhatvagni and pacifies the burning sensation and excessive thirst due to fever. The included aromatic herbs and spices stimulate circulation and the flow of prana (life force) and hence are also benevolent to the respiratory system. Draksharishta is highly recommended in asthma, cough and other respiratory ailments.

Ingredients: Vitis Vinifera, Elettaria cardamomum, Cinnamomum iners, Mesua ferra, Piper longum, Embelia ribes.

Suggested Use: Take 4 spoonfuls twice daily.

Draksharishtam is a liquid, self-generated herbal alcoholic preparation. Where draksha refers to raisins or dry grapes.

Its usage:

1.Urakshata – useful in chest injury

2.Kshaya – tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases, weight loss

3.Kasa – cold, cough

4.Shwasa – Asthma

5.Galamayan – throat infection / throat disorders

6.Balakrut – improves strength

7.Malashodhana – cleanses intestines.

Dosage:

10-25ml with equal quantity of warm water.

Draksharishta ingredients:

Dry grapes – 2.4 kg

water for Kashayam – 49.152 liters

Boiled and reduced to 12.288 liters, filtered.

Jaggery – 9.6 kg

Prakshepa –

Twak – Cinnamon – Stem bark – 48 g

Ela – cardamom – 48 g

Patra –  (Cinnamomum tamala) – leaf – 48 g

Nagakeshara (Mesua ferrea) – Stamen – 48 g

Priyangu (Callicarpa macrophylla) – Flower – 48 g

Maricha – Black pepper – Fruit – 48 g

Pippali – Long pepper – Fruit – 48 g

Vidanga (Embelia ribes) – Fruit – 48 g

Dhataki (Woodfordia fruticosa) – Flower – 384 kg
