Varanadi ghrta is a traditional recipe found mentioned in the text Bhaishajyaratnavali, in the context of vata-Kapha imbalance in the ‘Uttmanaga’ or head. It is a ghee based preparation that has a broad spectrum of applications ranging from sluggish metabolism to headache, sensory neural hearing loss and inflammatory arthritis. It is a potent aid to strengthen the ‘Jatharagni’ or digestive fire in the human body.

Varanadi ghrta has been used by Vaidyas for oral intake (pana), nasal instillation (nasya) and rectal enema (Basti). Due to the ghee base, ghrta preparations are suited for long term use and helps reinforce and sustain the benefits of treatment in the body

Dosage & Directions for Use

Child: 1/2 to 1 tsp early in the morning or at bedtime, as advised by the Physician.

Adult: 5-15 ml early in the morning or at bedtime, as advised by the Physician.

Suitable for all ages in Physician recommended doses.

VARUNA(Crataeva nurvala)

Also known as Three-leaved caper The bark and leaves of the tree are mainly used for medicinal purposes. Varuna bark is recommended for blood purification, urinary-bladder problems, erysipelas, lymphadenopathy, BPH (Enlarged Prostate), and calculi.

SAHACHARA-(Nilgirianthus ciliatus )

It is widely used in South India in various preparations and is considered as an important Vatahara drug. Used in the treatment of Vata disorders, leprosy, to control blood sugar, urinal problems, jaundice, excess menses etc.

MURVA (Marsdenia tenacissima)

It is a medicinal plant, and commonly known as Murva or Moorva. The roots of Murva plant are used as single drug, and also in compound formulations of Ayurveda for treating of fever, polyuria, dryness of mouth, worm infestations, itching, bleeding piles, bleeding disorders, and excessive thirst. It belongs to Aragwadhadi group of herbs, which are especially used for chronic obstinate urinary disorders, diseases of the skin, vomiting, etc. It is detoxifies blood, and gives relief in skin diseases. It has purgative action.

VILVA (Aegle marmelos)

The Bael tree or Bilva (in Sanskrit) is an ancient Ayurvedic tree known for its spiritual and medicinal importance. It is one of the Dashamoola (group of ten roots) herb .Belpatra is said to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be applied on any inflamed region for quick relief. Bael is said to have anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, due to which it is used in treating a number of infections in our body.

BRIHATI:( Solanum indicum )

The use of Brihati in this oil helps reduce Vata disorders. It treats different types of skin infection and nourishes and rejuvenates the skin.

BHADRIKA OR GORAKSHAGUNJA (Aerva lanata)

It is used in Ayurveda as for renal calculi,urinary retension,cough and sore throat.Plant has anti HIV,and antibacterial property too.

CHIRAVILVA (Holoptelia integrifolia)

The bark and leaves are used for treating oedema, diabetes, leprosy and other skin diseases, intestinal disorders, piles and sprue.
A poultice of the bark and leaves is applied topically to treat boils, swellings and rheumatic pains.The bark is used externally as a treatment for rheumatism, ringworm, scabies, ulcers and scorpion stings.

AGNIMANTHA (Premna integrefolia)

The extracts of Agnimantha play a vital role in improving skin glow, and texture. It prevents dark circles, blemishes, breakouts, scars left after the healing of acne, suntans, and various signs of aging and provides a natural radiance to the skin.

HAREETHAKI (Terminalia chebula)

Popularly known as Indian walnut for its innumerable benefits or Indian hog plum in English, it  is extremely valuable for its role in improving hair health. It is useful for treating scalp infections like dandruff, itching and hair fall. It also strengthens them from the roots, prevents breakage and loss of hair and bestows silky soft smooth hair. Chebulic Myrobalan is one of the three key ingredients in Triphala, a natural compound that provides overall support for digestive function and helps ensure that the digestive tract works at optimal levels. The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India has documented the use of the powdered herb in intermittent fevers and chronic fevers, anemia and polyuria. Chebulic Myrobalan can also be used to treat gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders.

SIGRU (Moringa olieifera)

Commonly known as Drum stick tree. Root bark, stem bark, leaves, fruits, and seeds are used for medicinal purpose. Leaf juice is used in conjunctivitis and paste is applied when there is swelling around the eyes. The leaf decoction is internally taken for body ache and dysmenorrhea.

DARBA( Desmostachya bipinnata)

Commonly known as halfa grass widely used in religious customs.Used in skin diseases, diarrhea, renal calculi, dysmenorrhea and improving breast milk during lactation.

CHITHRAKA (Plumbago zeylanica )

It is a potent digestive medicine used for treating a host of ailments including indigestion, constipation, anorexia, abdominal distension, stomatitis, abdominal pain, etc. Imbued with digestive, caustic, stimulant and carminative properties, it eliminates harmful AMA toxins from the body which has accumulated due to malabsorption of food particles.
